The standard IRIS system collects as much property tax information as is
available from a county, adds in points of interest, a phone directory,
and often also includes REALTOR® MLS information (for MLS board
members). Combine this with a powerful search interface and the rest of
the features described here and you'll see why it's the most powerful
property information tool available.
IRIS is the only property information tool available with truly
interactive parcel maps. Most property information tools that do have
maps only have pictures of maps. IRIS has embedded GIS functionality
which is clearly superior to any competing property information tools.
PropertyKey has developed a process to collect photographs of all of the
properties in a geographic area. In certain areas these photos are
available as a standard part of the IRIS product. IRIS may also contain
photos acquired from the REALTOR®s multiple listing service or other
sources
IRIS also includes US Census demographic information, giving you the
ability to get an overview of the economic, education, and age make-up
of the area, as well as several other fields of information.
Two of the best features in IRIS are the ability to print mailing labels
and send e-mail using data from the IRIS databases. The IRIS Label
Wizard allows you to take a group of properties (either the result of a
search or by selecting an area of the map) and print out mailing labels
(nearly any standard Avery label format) in four easy steps. The e-mail
interface allows you to compose an e-mail with attached photos, maps, and
other information.
With frequent (free) updates to the IRIS software and aggressive updating
schedule, IRIS is constantly working to improve on its position as the
best property information tool available. We're also constantly working
to add more data to the system, so even though there's no such thing as
"standard data for a county", every county will start off with at
minimum street maps, demographics, and tax records. Most counties will
also have parcel maps, points of interest, and a completed property photo
base. We try to be responsive to local requests for data above and
beyond the basics since each area seems to have different needs and
different data availability.
